Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument in southwestern New Mexico was established as a national monument November 16, 1907. Its gross vicinity is 533 demesne (Ii.Ii kilometer²).
It offers the glimpse of the homes & peoples of the population of the Mogollon culture who sleep in the Gila Wilderness from the 1280s through the early 1300s. A surroundings probably look now much prefer it did once a drop-off home were inhabited. These are surrounded per Gila National Forest and lies at the edge of the Gila Wilderness, the United States' number 1 intended wilderness area. This designation means that a woods character of the vicinity might non become altered per intrusion of roads or even more grounds to believe of individual presence.
